Just a note: I've always admired anyone's not taking abuse. (Is the possessive pronoun right before the -ing [gerund?] form? Unsure; one set of rules was defined under the influence of Latin, what are the rules today? But anyway, back to the blog.) But now, I find Carole King's "Smackwater Jack" lyrics haunting (my close relatives have always been sort of pacifists; sometimes of cours I am too; sometimes not).

www.elyricsworld.com/smackwater_jack_lyrics_carole_king.html :
"And on the whole it was a very good year for the undertaker."

Anyway . . .
Another song (and musical) I've always enjoyed is Westside Story.
www.westsidestory.com/site/level2/lyrics/krupke.html-- especially these lines from "Officer Krupke," where two gangsters, A-RAB and ACTION, role play an encounter between the court system and a young offender. (What attitude! Anyway I taught in L.A. and really did not see too much bad attitude; kids are kids wherever you go.)

A-RAB: In my opinion, this child don't need to have his head shrunk at all. Juvenile delinquency is purely a social disease!

ACTION: Hey, I got a social disease!

A-RAB: So take him to a social worker!

ACTION
Dear kindly social worker,
They say go earn a buck.
Like be a soda jerker,
Which means like be a schumck.
It's not I'm anti-social,
I'm only anti-work.
Gloryosky! That's why I'm a jerk!
